There is no single perfect order for introducing foods.
A practical approach is:
- start with single-ingredient foods that are easy to swallow
- include a variety of vegetables, fruits, grains, beans, tofu, meat, fish, and eggs over time
- include iron-rich foods early
- do not delay common allergens just because they are allergens; once your baby is ready for solids, they can usually be introduced in small amounts, one at a time
It can also help to offer vegetables early, not just sweet foods.
